The open-source team is looking for an intern in 2025 to work on a feature importance method for tree-based models called mean decrease impurity (MDI). While being research-oriented, this should lead also to an impactful contribution to scikit-learn. You will work with core scikit-learn contributors. We have offices at Tour Montparnasse (27th floor) and Inria Saclay (near Polytechnique in Palaiseau), and you can also do some home-office. Paid up to 2000€/month.
